In 1973, Dave and Gail Liniger created RE/MAX specifically for top producing sales agents. Originally, based out of Denver, Colorado, RE/MAX has recently grown to over 60,000 agents worldwide with over 3,500 offices. The founders' goal was to provide an environment for agents to maximize their business potential. Hence, the name RE/MAX, meaning "Real Estate Maximums".

Attracted by the RE/MAX Maximum Commission Concept and the many benefits of affiliation, so many agents joined RE/MAX that competitors began changing their own commission structures. By the early 90's, RE/MAX had revolutionized the Real Estate industry.
